Dearest Friend,

I miss you.  It's been way too long.

I was happy when you arrived this month, but you were here for such a short time.  You felt distant to me.  I saw only a glimpse of your bright, cheery face.  Seeing you warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.  You were like a breath of fresh air.  You whispered soft words of hope and renewal.

And just as quickly as you arrived, you were gone.  In the blink of an eye.

I was surprised at your decision to suddenly leave.  Your change in behavior was unexpected.  There was a chill in the air and your words pelted like snow. Why, I wonder, do you feel the need to tease and taunt me?  I need you here.  I need you to be by my side to feel that sense of rejuvenation.

Will you ever come back to greet me?  I do hope so, and soon.  Oh, my dearest friend, Spring....

    so that when I come back around
    again, you will find some sense of belief
    of the power of rejuvenation,

    I'm looking outside at a white world this morning--it snowed in the night. After it was 75 earlier in the week! So hard to keep up with South Dakota weather....Love the letter format for a slice, especially when the addressee isn't a person!

soLs: a week

Slice of Life Stories hosted by the  Two Writing Teachers I can't believe it's already been one whole week. Sometimes vacations are over in a blink, but other times vacations move slowly to enjoy every moment.  That's how this vacation is going - slowly, but with so much to enjoy. Of course, it is hard being away from home and the every-day-usual, but what I have truly enjoyed the most is the evenings.  After the girls are tucked in bed, it becomes my time to do what I choose to do because I have NO to-do list!  Nothing!  No cleaning, no laundry (thanks Mom!), no dinner (thanks Dad!), no dishes, no nothing.  Instead I have guilt-free time to read books, browse Twitter, catch up on blog reading, scrounge...

soLs: a (proud) little secret

Slice of Life Stories hosted by the  Two Writing Teachers Come here.   Come closer.   I have a secret to share with you.   I'm really excited about it and I haven't told anyone except my mom , my hubby, and my friend, colleague, and writing buddy . I receive notifications of comments on my blog on my email at school.  I think all of you will agree, it's always exciting to see that a new comment was left behind.  It never gets old.  Everyone loves a visitor, a voice that let's you know that you've been heard, and a comment that keeps you writing.
