Feeling Like the Weather

You don't have to ask me how I'm feeling.
Just look outside:  I'm feeling like the weather.

Today it is rainy, cold, and just plain yucky.
I'm not in the mood to chit chat.
I don't really want to write.
I have no energy.
I'm in one of those moods.
Just leave me alone now.
That's how I feel:  Rainy, cold, and just plain yucky.

I wish it were sunny, warm, and delightful.
I'd be smiling from ear to ear.
I would have an extra bounce in my step.
I'd wonder: do I sing, dance, write, or converse?
I would feel full of life.
Just join in with me.
That's how I'd feel:  Sunny, warm, and delightful.


Why is it that we feel like the weather?
And where can I go where it is always
Sunny, warm, and delightful?

    Sorry to read it is rainy and yucky where you are. We are windy and expecting severe storms tonight. The weather does play an important part in our attitude to the day. Nice poem to express those feelings.

    Dear Michelle,
    I like your mood-weather poem.It makes sense to feel "leave me alone" mood on a rainy day. I find it far worse when I feel "rainy" on a sunny day.

    Oh, you speak the truth. It is hard to be bubbly and cheery when the outside is so dreary. The weather will hopefully be smiling soon. I couldn't help but think about Dr. Seuss's "Many Colored Days" when I read your poem. It's amazing the things that influence our moods.

    We are experiencing the same day as you, and we've had it for a week!!! I'ts soooo cold, too. I am a sunshine person, too--I need it!!! I try to make these gloomy days as a time to read and write more, and then I get lost like I did today in my post of the past. It was almost an out-of-body experience!

    I feel your pain and yuckiness, Michelle. We actually got 4+ inches of snow today--and got out of school at 11:30 because the roads were so bad. Here's to that sunny, warm place where we are always singing and dancing!

    I like the way you made the contrast of feelings, so dependent on what's 'outside'. It made me think of that place on Star Trek where they could dial up a place, & the weather, whatever they wanted. Wouldn't it be great?

    Loved the contrast in your poem. Why is it that we let the weather affect us so much? Those rainy, cold, yucky day just want to make me curl up by a cozy fire, sipping a cup of tea and enjoying a good book. Thank goodness we don't have yucky days all the time, I'd never get anything done! Guess we all need to mediate and remind ourselves how "sunny" our lives really are. That will turn our downs into ups! Love ya, M
