Me.
I won.
I am lucky.

Actually, I've thought about this a lot this weekend after winning a whopping $500 gift card to a local bookstore from Walden Pond Press on Twitter.  (That's another slice!)

I always used to say, "I'm not lucky."  But after winning such a glorious, fantastic, stupendous prize, I realized I am lucky in more ways than one.

I don't need to "win" to be lucky.

I have a wonderful husband that adores and supports me (and now is encouraging my "Twitter" use after winning).

I have beautiful, smart, and funny twin daughters who I love and adore more and more each and every day.

I have a loving family and supportive friends who I know I can always count on to be there for me to help out or just listen.

I have my health, my heart, my mind, and my spirit all in a good place.

I don't need to "win" to be lucky.

I am lucky.
I won.
Me.

    What a fun slice. I liked how you paired the winning with other reasons in life to feel lucky.

    That is a pretty amazing prize though! I am always excited to buy books.

    I loved your beginning and the inverse ending, such smart crafting moves. The middle was pretty great too. You are lucky in so many ways. Have a blessed holiday with your family.

    I like how this was written Michelle,it reminds me of the poem Linda at Teacher Dance posted a couple of days ago. I first read it forward then backward and both ways are GREAT!
    Congratulations on all accounts. It's not what's under the tree, it's who's around it!

    Yes, you are lucky in many ways. Yet I think it is still great to win something. Feel good about that and have super fun spending the money on books. Share some with the ones you love. All of it will add to your health, mind and spirit. Yes, you are lucky in many ways.

    This is a wonderful post celebrating all that you treasure. You are lucky, you didn't need to win to bring "wonderful" into your life - and you definitely don't need to win the best prize of all - yourself. (but it is hard to say our "selves" are prizes - but we are. )

soLs: a week

Slice of Life Stories hosted by the  Two Writing Teachers I can't believe it's already been one whole week. Sometimes vacations are over in a blink, but other times vacations move slowly to enjoy every moment.  That's how this vacation is going - slowly, but with so much to enjoy. Of course, it is hard being away from home and the every-day-usual, but what I have truly enjoyed the most is the evenings.  After the girls are tucked in bed, it becomes my time to do what I choose to do because I have NO to-do list!  Nothing!  No cleaning, no laundry (thanks Mom!), no dinner (thanks Dad!), no dishes, no nothing.  Instead I have guilt-free time to read books, browse Twitter, catch up on blog reading, scrounge...
