It's Year 10!! #cyperPD

It's been a loooong last few months of school this year.

I'm looking forward to saying goodbye. Closing this short chapter and moving forward.

Hello Summer!

Time to just be in the moment and to read what I want without so many distractions of having to be online. I know there is so much more going on in the world right now. But we need to stay strong together. To learn and grow. To help our country move forward. To change. To be the change. Books can help us on that journey ...

Our #cyberPD group is back yet again for a summer of reading and learning together. The book selected is always one of my favorite PD books that opens the door to conversations to help me grow as a person and educator. Here are the books we have read together over the last nine years:

Join us for Year 10 of #cyberPD!

Step 1: Share a photo or a virtual book stack of what you hope to read this summer. Share on Twitter (adding #cyberPD) or in our #cyberPD MeWe community.

Step 2: Be sure to join our #cyberPD MeWe community to stay connected and up-to-date!

Step 3: Wait for the book selection announcement in mid-June ...

Step 4: Fingers crossed the book is already in your stack. If not ... Get your hands on the book!

Step 5: Start reading and making plans to share your thoughts and questions for our JULY discussions.

Step 6: Enjoy learning and growing together on a schedule that works for you!

An Interview with Educator/Momma/Writer Ruth Ayres Celebrating #EnticingWriters + Giveaway!

I love sharing book titles with close friends, so I'm happy you are here! I want to share a book that you must add to your to-be-read list. Ruth Ayres has a brand new book titled  Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers   published by Stenhouse Publishers. It's another must read from Ruth. There are many professional development books available to learn about mastering our craft of teaching.   However, there are only a few that make a true impact -- and this is one book that weaves raw truth, research, practical ideas, and story all in one {cute} little package.  In  Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers , Ruth allows her worlds to collide during the creation:  "In this book, I entwine my three story lines as educator, momma, and writer." (p. 6) And she does this in an amazing way through sharing stories of her family, adoption, children living in hard places -- and doing their best  -- and healing. She shares how we can use research to understand how to
