I love sharing book titles with close friends, so I'm happy you are here! I want to share a book that you must add to your to-be-read list. Ruth Ayres has a brand new book titled Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers published by Stenhouse Publishers. It's another must read from Ruth. There are many professional development books available to learn about mastering our craft of teaching. However, there are only a few that make a true impact -- and this is one book that weaves raw truth, research, practical ideas, and story all in one {cute} little package. In Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers , Ruth allows her worlds to collide during the creation: "In this book, I entwine my three story lines as educator, momma, and writer." (p. 6) And she does this in an amazing way through sharing stories of her family, adoption, children living in hard places -- and doing their best -- and healing. She shares how we can use research to understand how to
But such a great way to spend a day off and inside - lots of accomplishments and fun besides. Love ya, Mom
ReplyDeleteI always love your poetic way of sharing your day. You make watching the snow fall sound fun...although I am soooooo done with winter:)
ReplyDeleteI love how you wrote snow in your poem! I love that you took the girls swimming on the snowy day. That probably was so-much-fun. xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very busy day off ;-) and maybe I need two little girls to enjoy watching the s*n*o*w*
ReplyDeleteLove the poem - a tumble of words, just like your day was a tumble of doing. My 'days off' are the same.
ReplyDeleteSuch a busy day off. I like the time between the lunch and the dinner, and ofcourse shhhh sleeping time. :)
ReplyDeleteI always love, love, love your poems. In this one, I especially appreciated the first and last lines, as well as the snow intermixed. You captured it well, and it was easy to connect to.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun, watching your poem move through the day, Michelle. And I love that the girls are learning to skate. We lived on a lake when the kids were young, and my son was skating well by the time we moved. Just have to get them moving!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the snow, Michelle - I'll have to remember that!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your writing. It sounds like an exhausting, but fun day.
ReplyDeleteLove snow days like this! I so wish I had children to share snow days with!
ReplyDeleteI also love this poem! It's so, very creative!
What a fun day! But I am really ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteLove this snapshot of your day, especially the snuggling and napping, and the poetic way you showed us the snowfall! Swimming lessons do lead to sound sleep and shhh at the end of a busy day.
ReplyDeleteLove how you showed the full busy-ness of a "day off", Michelle! The "snow fall" was my favorite! Sounds like you had a wonderful day, even though it was busy. Sometimes, those snow days are the gifts we need to live the rest of our lives outside of school!
