This summer I have been reading up a storm!  MG stories, YA novels, and picture books galore!  (Oh, and a couple PD books as well, and lots of tweets and blogs too.)

Picture books are amazing.  I guess if I could do something more in my life, I would love to be a picture book author.  What fun!  I never really thought about that before (let alone tell the whole world about it), but I may have to start a new writer's notebook:  Picture Books . . . by Me.  Maybe this will revive my writing drought.

So with all this reading, I wanted to invite you to participate in the August 10 for 10: The second annual picture book event hosted by Cathy at Reflect and Refine and Mandy at Enjoy and Embrace Learning.  You can either read the posts or add your own list and link!  The more, the merrier!  (And my picture book budget will be sucked dry before school even starts!)

    What a blessing is your post! I have a pile of books I was just getting ready to make notes about for my teachers. Perhaps these lists will help. They are so wonderful aren't they? Your desire to write one is a good goal, & perhaps the twins will motivate you to write stories for them!

    Another closet children's author out there:) I keep saying, maybe when I retire. I love the idea of selecting ten have to have books for your classroom. I expect it is going to be very difficult.

    I discovered 10 for 10 last year by accident and loved it. I have been waiting for its return even though I don't think I could narrow my list to ten.

    Picture books are my favorite! Pick 10? That's impossible, but I may have to give it a shot.

soLs: a week

Slice of Life Stories hosted by the  Two Writing Teachers I can't believe it's already been one whole week. Sometimes vacations are over in a blink, but other times vacations move slowly to enjoy every moment.  That's how this vacation is going - slowly, but with so much to enjoy. Of course, it is hard being away from home and the every-day-usual, but what I have truly enjoyed the most is the evenings.  After the girls are tucked in bed, it becomes my time to do what I choose to do because I have NO to-do list!  Nothing!  No cleaning, no laundry (thanks Mom!), no dinner (thanks Dad!), no dishes, no nothing.  Instead I have guilt-free time to read books, browse Twitter, catch up on blog reading, scrounge...

soLs: a (proud) little secret

Slice of Life Stories hosted by the  Two Writing Teachers Come here.   Come closer.   I have a secret to share with you.   I'm really excited about it and I haven't told anyone except my mom , my hubby, and my friend, colleague, and writing buddy .
