SOLS: Waterproof Sticky Notes? - 4/31

The Slice of Life Story Challenge
is hosted by the Two Writing Teachers.

Waterproof Sticky Notes?

The ideas and thoughts are bouncing around my head like a dizzy pinball machine. Pulses of flashing lights. Blaring bells ringing.

So,  some of my best ideas for blogging, and teaching, and everything else in life, seem to happen in the shower.

It's my time.  My time to think.  My time to be alone.  Without interruption.  It's my deep breath before the hectic day begins.  (Sigh.)

So, why can't I just relax?  Ding! Why can't I just "turn off" my brain?   Ding! Ding!  Why can't I take a moment for my . . .  Ding! Ding! Ding!

  1. Great post---it really gives a sense of the shower droplets and the ideas all bouncing around. And, by the way, waterproof sticky notes are a great idea!

  2. My great ideas seem to come when I am partially asleep/awake. Then I can't remember the genius part when I am fully awake. What kind of sticky note would help me? Great simile!

  3. Ding! It's shower time for me! :)

  4. So that's what's happening in my brain - a pinball machine. Great metaphor. I think we should install virtual showers at school during collaboration meetings. We might brainstorm more. Excellent idea. I'll be tabbing this post as a favorite. :)MaryHelen

  5. I once had a student (middle school) whose mother bought her those bath crayons so she could write poems on the walls of her shower. Maybe this could work for your ideas?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
