{Starting Again} #sol19

I can't believe it's been almost a year without writing a slice of life or even a blog post.
After years of writing. Nine years. 626 published blog posts. Most slice of life stories.

To be exact.

I know that my habit of writing slipped away.
I chose to ignore the blog, the calls for slices, the messages from far away friends.

I let it go.

It's hard really to say why. I'm sure it's a combination of home and school.
And to be honest, my heart wasn't in it.

However, my heart has been empty too.

I have missed capturing my stories about life.
I've missed you, your stories, your connections, your support.

But I haven't missed my personal pressure to write ... and to write well.

Yet, I think I'm ready to ignite my passion for writing again.
At least I'm going to make the effort. And it starts with the first day.

Here's to starting again.

    Don't know what made me check out TWT today, but guess it was meant to be and there you were. So glad you're writing again without pressure, but because you want to. Maybe this is the encouragement for me to write again too. We'll see. Love ya, Mom

    Hooray! I was so happy to see a post from you today. When I take breaks, I miss all of those things you say--but never that personal pressure to write. It feels wonderful to get a break from that, honestly.

{bedtime stories} 2/31 #sol16

The March Slice of Life Story Challenge hosted  at the  Two Writing Teachers Join us for a month of writing! _________________________________________________________ "Time to head upstairs.  PJs on and let's brush teeth!"  My very favorite time of the day is bedtime with the girls.  I hurry and hustle and bustle them along, so that we have plenty of time to settle into a bedtime story or two (or more like three).  Each girl picks out a book and then one usually snags a third. "Mommy, this is one that you want to read. Right?"  When the girls are completely ready for bed, we meet in my bedroom to snuggle in the big bed.  I'm in the middle, sandwiched between the two girls.  Heads resting close by, slowly slithering closer, they each nestle on my shoulder to get a closer look at every ...

solsc: tears of joy 16/31

March Slice of Life Story Challenge hosted  at the  Two Writing Teachers Join us for a month of writing! My daughters are going to be four in less than two months.  How that times goes so fast is beyond me.  We have thousands of photographs uploaded.  We took hours and hours of video.   We made DVDs for the first year of their life.  Then we stopped.   For some reason, our "anybody can make a video" in iMovie on the Mac computer wouldn't work.  (An error regarding the size of the video or lack of space on the computer.)  So, the video transfer to DVD didn't happen.  Videos waited on the computer.  It's a permanent item on our to-do list to make the DVDs.  Every break I had from school, my husband reminded me of my one and only task:  figure out how to make the DVDs....
