New Reader Button!

I love stumbling upon new techy what-cha-ma-call-its. Ok.  It may not be new to the world, but it's new to me!  I hope you find it helpful as well!

I read many blogs.  Thank you to GoogleReader for sharing new posts every day! (Another great creation!)  There are probably hundreds of blogs that I've retracted from reading because the blog page itself wasn't visually pleasing to my eyes.

Too much.
Busy, busy.
Buttons all over.
Advertisements.
Hate the font.
Small print.
Dreadful colors.

I'm sure I missed out on valuable learning and thinking because I didn't read the blog.

Guess what?  No more!

I discovered the "Reader" button in the address bar in Safari. (Click to enlarge. See purple Reader button.)

Click on the link to the blog.  Click on the "Reader" button and it's easy on the eyes!  It brings forward just the blog post, darkens the background noise, and is perfect for your reading pleasure! You can also zoom in, zoom out, email, and print!  Without all the "extras" on the page!

Go ahead! Try it out on my post. Click that "Reader" button!

Now, doesn't that just make life a little happier? :)

Side note:  I'm now noticing that my favorite little "Reader" button is not showing up on some blogs.   Thoughts?

  1. I responded on Twitter because I thought you were talking about something else---I like this. There are some blogs I do that to also. This will help.

In my google reader on my start page, new posts show up as they are written, and they come up in a smaller version of this. Makes reading blogs a little faster, too!

An Interview with Educator/Momma/Writer Ruth Ayres Celebrating #EnticingWriters + Giveaway!

I love sharing book titles with close friends, so I'm happy you are here! I want to share a book that you must add to your to-be-read list. Ruth Ayres has a brand new book titled  Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers   published by Stenhouse Publishers. It's another must read from Ruth. There are many professional development books available to learn about mastering our craft of teaching.   However, there are only a few that make a true impact -- and this is one book that weaves raw truth, research, practical ideas, and story all in one {cute} little package.  In  Enticing Hard-To-Reach Writers , Ruth allows her worlds to collide during the creation:  "In this book, I entwine my three story lines as educator, momma, and writer." (p. 6) And she does this in an amazing way through sharing stories of her family, adoption, children living in hard places -- and doing their best  -- and healing. She shares how we can use research to understand how to
