Last week, I wrote about a taste of living slow.  It was just a taste.  One bite really.  Since then life has been nothing but slow living, but rather a whirlwind of activity.

The end of the school year is never a relaxing, easy going time.

There is much to do.  Book talks and summer reading plans and cleaning and organize and completing paperwork and gift purchasing and whatever else comes my way ... maybe like book room planning?!?

Then throw in a family vacation planned for right after school is out for summer.

There is much to do.  Packing and shopping and searching and washing and more packing and list making and wondering what I forgot to pack and grabbing and planning and packing probably more than we'll even need.

I'm tired already!  Needless to say, I'm looking forward to our family vacation -- it just can't come too quickly! I'm not quite ready ...

But very soon I'll be ready for more of that living slow.  Time to breathe ... on the beach, ocean waves, relaxing.  And time away from all this busyness called life.

I. Can't. Wait.  More tastes of living slow.  I'm ready for a feast!

Until then ... I need to remember to "keep calm."

  3. Just keep remembering the end result of all this planning, packing and stress. Time on the beach, fun with the girls and relaxing (hopefully) with time to read. Have a great last day of school, a good night's sleep and a safe trip. Hugs to all. Love ya, Mom

  4. Busy, busy, busy and it seems like during the busiest time something is always added to the agenda. If we wait, the slow will eventually come. Or sometimes we can make the slow, like you did recently. Looking forward to reading about your summer slow.

  5. Oh how I still remember those last few days of school! Just one more and then off to sun, ocean and relaxation! Enjoy your trip can't wait to hear all about it! Hugs!

  6. The vacation will be great! It is always fun to suspend the reality of life when you go away. If you forgot something, I'm sure you can find what you need or make do without. Let the waves wash over you and send those worries away!

  7. There's nothing calm about packing for a long trip. (Just saying. I hate to pack. Unpacking is fine. Packing is SO NOT FINE for me.)

That said, keep calm! Enjoy the beach!

  8. Stacey and I need to work as a team. I'd much rather pack than unpack any day. It sounds like you are nearing a time to slow down. A vacation will be well deserved by the time you get through these final hurdles. In the meantime, try to find moments of slow (and stay away from Voxer **wink wink**).

  9. Remember that anything you forget you most likely will not need or can buy… imagine the warm sand between your toes and breathe!
    Enjoy

The March Slice of Life Story Challenge hosted  at the  Two Writing Teachers Join us for a month of writing! I have twin four and a half -- almost five! -- year old daughters.  I try to be consciously aware of what I say and do in regards to my body image and self-esteem and also with their body image and self-esteem. First of all, because I don't want them to believe everything that society says is true.  Even if they don't fully understand it today.  In addition, because they are fraternal twin sisters, I want them to understand they are individuals with unique and different bodies that God created for each of them.   However, society -- including my loving family and friends -- tell a different story and harmlessly create a comparison war.   My girls constantly hear how beautiful, adorable, cute, fill-i...

sols: a gift of words

Slice of Life  hosted  at the  Two Writing Teachers . Join in and share a slice of your life. One of the best gifts I give myself is time to write Monday evenings for the Tuesday Slice of Life.  That writing time allows me the opportunity to think about the little moments in my life.  Sometimes those moments are big and important.  Other times it's a funny moment that made me laugh.  Or a celebration, a word, a poem about the ordinary life.  I'm still amazed that I have been writing each week for over three years! Yet, there is another gift . . . My mom and dad have published my writing.  Just this past Christmas, I received volume five of my blog writing.  Yes, I have five books f...
