Sore throat. Aches and pains.
Raspy voice. Coughing fits.
Sinus pressure. Sniffles and ... sneeze!
Eleven days. I am done.
Moms can't be sick for this long.
Unless I'm being reminded ...
that I can't do it all on my own
that I need to not stress about school
that I need to take care of myself first
that I need to exercise and eat healthy
that I need me-time above all
To be the best ME I can be.
11 days? And you find time to write. This is proof that you ARE taking care of yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that you will be feeling much better soon! Even with illness, you were able to create your trademark visuals with your writing that I always love with lines like your "Sniffles and ... sneeze!" I am glad that you are thinking about how to take care of yourself and keep it all in perspective.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. It's hard to balance all the back to school-fall stressors without getting sick-feeling tired-getting stressed! I wonder if sometimes our bodies "get sick" to protect us from all those pushes and pulls of our busy lives?
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your sickness. You are right, you have to take care of yourself first. Sending you lots of warm thoughts.
ReplyDeletePoor girl. Keep taking care of yourself. And don't forget to ask for help. Other people do like to feel needed :) Hugs to you! Hope you are back to your old self soon
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks everyone! The hardest part is one of my daughters has been sick too, so I took two days to be home with her and take her to the doctor. (No time for me!)
ReplyDeleteBut TODAY I am taking for myself and heading to the doctor. And time to sleep or read or do nothing without little ones calling out, "Mommy!" Thanks again! Love the hugs and continued prayers for health -- in our whole house!
Feel better, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteI pray that today is a better day - the sniffles and sneezes are gone and you will soon be back to normal. Being a Mom, teacher, and homemaker is difficult enough, and then adding illness makes it doubly hard. Prayers and hugs being sent your way. Love ya, Mom
ReplyDeleteGlad it sounds like you finally got a little "me" time. I hope you rested and got a head start on getting healthy again. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow...all that and you still managed to get a slice done! Here's to happy, healthy days ahead!
ReplyDeleteI pray you are getting some ME time to help you recover. Sending a hug from Canada.
ReplyDeleteEleven days is a LONG time to be sick. And it's fall for Pete's sake!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's teacher says that being sick is the body's way of telling us to slow down. I concur. Therefore, I hope you can get some rest this weekend.
I remember last week's post too, Michelle. So sorry that this cough/cold, etc. is still hanging on. Best wishes!
