I've mentioned it before, but my two girls are great sleepers.  Once they are snuggled in their beds and lights are out, they are asleep.  They sleep all night.  I thank God that they are good sleepers.  It's a beautiful thing because I need my sleep.  I need my sleep all night long.  That solid, uninterrupted, peaceful, dead-to-the-world sleep.

If I don't get my sleep, I can be down right crabby.

The girls both have colds with lots of boogers and coughs.

10:37pm Finally snuggled in my warm bed ready to read to relax from the busy day.
11:01pm  Book closed satisfied with the stopping point as my eyes closed slowly.
11:18pm  "Momma?  I got boogers."
11:19pm  Wiped the nose and tucked back into bed.
11:20pm  Deep breath, back in bed and asleep before I could . . .
1:23am  "Mommy.  I got boogers again."
1:24am  My husband nudged me.  "I'll go next time."  "I went once. It's your turn."
1:25am  He wiped the nose and tucked back into bed.
1:26am  Deep breath, back in bed and asleep before I . . .
3:57am "Momma.  I got tinkle."
3:58am  Changed a diaper (without waking her sister) and tucked back into bed.
3:59am  Deep breath, back in bed and asleep . . .
5:00am  BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!  (Ignored.) "Want me to turn on the 6 o'clock alarm?"
6:00am  BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!  (Snooze.)
6:10am  BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!  (Snooze.)
6:20am BEEP!  BEEP! BEEP!  I'm up already . . .

I was tired.  But surprisingly not the least bit crabby.

The life as a mom.  And I wouldn't change it for anything.

    What a night! I'm tired reading it! Your last line comes as a surprise (but not really!) Hope you get a chance for at least a ten minute nap sometime today!

    That's the true meaning of unconditional love!!!! It takes tons more than just hourly wake-ups with boogers and tinkles...

    I got tired just reading about the interruptions in your sleep. Hopefully, tonight will be better and everyone will get a good night's rest. Maybe "crabby" is still sleeping and will remain that way!.

    Glad you could move your wake up time. You know you will have nights like this, but when put together, the good sleep nights will win.

    Geesh! When it rains it pours, right? Our 4- mo old and 3.5 year lid seem to conspire and pull all their tricks on the same night. I'm glad you weren't crabby...that's a feat after all this :). Go you!

The March Slice of Life Story Challenge hosted  at the  Two Writing Teachers Join us for a month of writing! I have twin four and a half -- almost five! -- year old daughters.  I try to be consciously aware of what I say and do in regards to my body image and self-esteem and also with their body image and self-esteem.
